Fireman's Training |
In march, Permagas completed a 3 day
training course for Snohomish County Fire Training Officers.
The “Propane Emergencies Program” was taught with materials from
the Propane Education and Research Council and from the National
Propane Gas Association. (See: www.propanesafety.com). This
course trains firemen to predict what propane does, and to
identify and operate every kind of container and valving,
including:
- Stationary tanks and piping systems.
- Cylinders and portable tanks.
- Highway, rail and inter-modal tanks.
- Bulk storage plants.
- Rail terminals.
With this information, firefighters can apply their “Eight Step
Process” of strategy and tactics to specifically:
- Measure risks and safety issues.
- Protect personnel, equipment and
property.
- Control the areas, timing and
activities.
- Apply action to predict exact outcomes.
Now that Snohomish County Fire Training
Officers are trained, we will help each of them arrange
appropriate training for the specific needs of their
department’s personnel. We will work to have every fireman in
Snohomish county be knowledgeable about handling every kind of
propane container and valving.

CALL BEFORE YOU DIG
We will be happy to locate your underground propane line for you - just
call us.
Did You Know?
An odorant is added to propane for your safety. The odorant we add to
propane is the same odorant used in natural gas. It smells like a skunk,
rotten eggs, or bad cabbage, and is there to warn you of a leak.
