In Africa, many school playgrounds have
play-powered water pumps. This is a merry-go-round that the kids
jump on and push it around to turn an adjacent water pump.
Before these Play-Pumps, they had no fresh water, no water for
cooking or to wash their hands. Now the kids have clean water,
and are even growing a garden for fresh vegetables.
